BRAGA, PORTUGAL: In late October, AdventGX led a delegation of Texas A&M University faculty, entrepreneurs, and investors on a trade mission to Braga, Portugal where the group had the opportunity to learn about research activities at Braga’s University of Minho, engage with entrepreneurs at Startup Braga, and enjoy the rich history of this amazing European city. In partnership with the City of Braga, AdventGX produced a concert featuring Bolivia’s guitar virtuoso Pirai Vaca at the stunning and historic Theatro Circo. To open the evening, Braga Mayor Ricardo Rio graciously welcomed our delegation for a reception and all enjoyed an amazing selection of local fare including a variety of Vinho Verde wines from the region.
Over the course of the four-day mission many promising connections were made. Already, faculty from both universities are identifying ways to engage in joint research efforts, and we are evaluating opportunities of continued exchange. The feedback from this pilot mission has been overwhelmingly positive and we hope to offer another trip in the coming years to continue to foment economic vitality through the global exchange of ideas, innovation, and culture. Be sure to let us know if you’re interested in joining a future exchange mission.
AdventGX is honored to create engaging experiences like the Braga International Exchange mission that work to form deep connections through rich intellectual and cultural events.
