Despite icy roads and bitter cold, the contingent from Cuauhtemoc made the visit to West Texas and toured some of the region’s premier tourism attractions and accommodations. Representatives included Armando Cavazos Fernandez, owner of the Tarahumara Inn hotel and president of the Mexican Association of Hotels and Motels in the State of Chihuahua; Veronica Perez, Director of Tourism in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Manuel and Suzzette Enriquez, landowners, outfitters and tour operators in the region. Road closings due to weather prevented the group from making the trip to College Station as planned but didn’t stop them from touring Far Flung Outdoor Centers in Terlingua, TX, the historic Cibolo Creek Ranch north of Presidio, Lajitas Resort in Terlingua and Holland Hotel in Alpine. The team also experienced the warmth and elegance of El Paisano Hotel in Marfa where they met to discuss plans for Cuauhtemoc tourism project development and marketing strategies for Cuauhtemoc and the surrounding region.
