The 2024 Town & Gown community celebration highlighted Texas A&M University – College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as we brought together Texas A&M University, area businesses, and non-profits for a night of fellowship, music, cocktails, and dancing. Special thanks to Reynolds & Reynolds for underwriting the event as our presenting sponsor. And thanks also to the Office of the President of Texas A&M, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Texas A&M Innovation, Stibbs and Co. Attorneys, and Greater Brazos Partnership for their sponsorships.
Father Brian Eilers of St. Joseph Church opened the evening with a beautiful blessing, setting the tone for the night. Dr. Jeff Savell shared about the amazing impact of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. We learned about just a few of the hundreds of non-profits that serve so many in our community, including Elizabeth House Maternity Home, Brazos County 4-H, SOS Ministries, Brazos Valley Food Bank, and OnRamp. We enjoyed music by Lindsey Fish, the Brian Turner band, and wrapped up the evening celebrating and dancing to Ultraviolet – The Live Band DJ Experience. Miss Reveille even joined the party and let us join her on the sofa for a few photos.
I’m grateful to our Advent GX team, our events team Ice House on Main, and to the many friends who came out to pause and reflect on our abundant blessings here in Aggieland, a hometown with a rich university culture and great hometown heritage.
